Blog #1 - The gloomy twenties

The day started with Azula lying on her couch in her usual drunken stupor in an attempt to block out the pain and loss of her family. After the accident involving her family, Azula was never the same person. She was depressed, quiet and lonely, which was the complete opposite of her old personality.

A year ago if you had said that Azula would become the unpopular, lonely emo kid at Columbia public high school no one would have believed you. As Azula gazed out the window she remembered the awful car crash that killed her family and the events leading up to it.  Azula was elated that she had finally gotten her drivers permit but what she couldn’t wait for was for, was to get her driver's license and be able to drive around without her meddling parents.

“Come on hurry, “ Azula said as she dragged her entire family and their dogs into the family van. As soon as they all piled in and before she could start the car, her father said “I am pray to god you do not kill us all  tonight, because we can’t rely on your new skills.” “Calm down dad, there is no way I am going to kill us, I am bad but not that bad” Azula quipped. She hoped that she wasn’t jinxing them all by saying that.

The longer Azula sat at the steering wheel, the more her speed gradually increased. In less than a blink of an eye Azula’s recklessness managed to get her family into a crashed that killed them all while hitting a white minivan that belonged to Mr. Evans.

The memories of her family’s deaths, as well as later discovering the news of Mr. Evans’ death will  haunt her always and forever.
